Collegiate Resources

Rams in Recovery

The college experience is often thought of as a rite of passage, a time to grow up and a time to discover one's gifts and passions.  Many refer to their college years as some of the best years of their lives.  But for a person struggling with a substance use disorder, the college experience comes along with some unique challenges.

Rams in Recovery, a program at Virginia Commonwealth University, offers support to students dealing with the realities of a substance use disorder.  The program lends support to students inside and outside the classroom, organizes events and trips, offers recovery housing and scholarships, and provides space and support for recovery meetings.

Collegiate Recovery Programs exist on a number of campuses.  If you're not in the Richmond Area, check with the administration at your school to find out what resources are available to support students in recovery.
